Sustainability efforts Our juice production is inherently sustainable, with no part of the fruit going to waste. In addition, we are making significant strides in measuring and improving the environmental impact of juice production, in the following areas: industrial energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, use water use and solid waste generation. An important part of our sustainability efforts is our certification process and successful partnerships with the Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade and other partners. |
Our Fruit Juice Products:
Our NFC orange juice is pasteurized by heating and cooling to reduce the amount of microorganisms. No chemicals or preservatives are added to juices at any stage of our supply chain. The dissolved oxygen in the juice is removed in the vacuum chamber process, which helps to retain the precious vitamin C in the juice. Our NFC orange juice is a 100% natural drink. It's packed with minerals, vitamins, and bioactive compounds like phytochemicals, which are important components of a healthy, balanced diet. |
Most of our orange juice is frozen and concentrated. Instead of pasteurization, we remove the water to save space, make it easier to ship overseas, and freeze it for storage during the journey. FCOJ extract is about five times more concentrated than NFC juice. It is mainly used to produce reconstituted juice, by adding water, and in the production of nectar and soft drinks. |
Our extensive operations in Brazil make LDC one of the largest producers of sicilian lemonade in the world. Our lemon juice is extracted in the same way as orange juice, by squeezing the fruit and separating the juice from the pulp, seeds and peel. The juice can then undergo evaporation to concentrate, or be sold as a homogenized juice. Both our concentrated and unconcentrated lemonades are diluted in water and sold as nectar or soft drinks, or added to other fruit or vegetable juices. Lemon juice concentrate can be made into a 'clear' juice, with no visible cloves, or a 'dark juice', containing up to 12% of the cloves. |
Like orange and lemon juice, our tamarind juice is extracted by squeezing the fruit and separating the juice from the pulp, seeds and peel. The juice can then undergo evaporation to concentrate, or be sold as a homogenized juice. Both our concentrated and unconcentrated tamarind juice are diluted in water and sold as nectar or soft drinks, or added to other fruit or vegetable juices. Lemonade concentrate can be made into a 'clear' juice with no visible cloves or a 'dark juice' containing up to 12% of the cloves. |
